Jean-Luc Fafchamps is a pianist and composer. He teaches musical analysis and composition at the Mons Royal Music Conservatory. As a member of the Ictus Ensemble, he is involved in concerts of both orchestral and chamber music (first performances of works by Lindberg, Reich, Aperghis, Mernier, Leroux, Harada, Francesconi, and more) as well as in combined performances, particularly with dance (including many productions with Rosas).
The Ictus Ensemble, Musiques Nouvelles, the Danel quartet, the National Orchestra of Lille, the Liège Philharmonic, Champs d’Action, Peter Rundel, Jean- Philippe Collard-Neven, Vincent Royer, and Stephane Ginsburgh have all played his works. They have also been performed at many international festivals.
