Menno Wigman is a poet, translator and anthropologist, and a leading figure in the “new romantic” generation. Clearly influenced by the decadent poets, his melancholy poems evoke music and love. Ever since his 1997 debut with ‘s Zomers stinken alle steden, critics and readers have enjoyed his poems’ musical rhythm and apparent simplicity. He has also published translations and anthologies, and is well known for his stage appearances in front of large audiences.
