Zhang Yimou - CHIN – 1997 – fictie / fiction – kleur / couleur – 93’ – OV / VO – EN SBT
(You hua hao hao shuo)
A very different sort of film from Zhang Yimou who casts his hero of the Red Sorghum, Jiang Wen, in the role of a bookseller still in love with an ex-girlfriend who follows her to find out where she lives. But her new companion is keen to resort to extreme measures to get rid of him… revenge follows. Zhang took his shoulder-held camera out into the street for this story based on a real life crime, a brisk film with dashes of black humour.
