'Les diaboliques'

Studio 5

Henri-Georges Clouzot - F – 1954 – fiction / fictie – n&b / zwart & wit – 117’ – VO /OV FR – NL OND

Clouzot takes the original story by crime writers Boileau-Narcejac and turns it into a set-gripping, nerve-wracking drama. A tyranical school director (the chilling Paul Meurisse) is having an affair with one of his students (Simone Signoret). His wife (Véra Clouzot) seems to accept the situation until the two women form a pact. The characters are truly abject and the direction is as tight as a tensed rope.
With: Simone Signoret, Paul Meurisse, Charles Vanel
