Robert Schumann 'Dichterliebe' Op.48
Arguably the most accomplished romantic cycle written for a singer, Schumann wrote ‘Dichterliebe’ using a selection of poems by Heinrich Heine, articulating the fragments into a cohesive whole. Although sobre, this is vocal music of rare expressive intensity: tenor Thibaut Lenaerts will be singing. Accompanying him on the piano, Kimiko Nishi is equally at ease in the contemporary repertoire for harpsichord as she is playing this pianoforte classic.
