In this masterpiece for the piano, which has been through several orchestral versions, including that by Ravel which helped to popularize it, Mussorgsky proposes a completely subjective musical guided tour of an exhibition by his painter-friend Viktor Hartman. This piece mobilizes all the technical and sound resources of the keyboard. The young pianist Florian Caroubi here reveals the whole breadth of his instrumental talent and his acute musical sensitivity.
