Four Flies on Grey Velvet (Dario Argento)

Four Flies on Grey Velvet: premiere preceded by a lecture with Chloé Huvet

Dario Argento

Screening preceded by an introductory lecture (in French) by Chloé Huvet on Ennio Morricone and the relationship between music, image and violence
By working with Dario Argento on his "animal trilogy" (including three titles on view at Cineflagey this month: The Bird with the Crystal Plumage, The Cat with Nine Tails and Four Gray Velvet Flies), Ennio Morricone initiated a seminal audiovisual approach, notably in the contiguity established between obsessive music and murderous impulses. Chloé Huvet is Senior Lecturer in Musicology at the University of Evry Paris-Saclay. Co-founder and coordinator of the collective research group ELMEC (Étude des langages musico-sonores à l'écran), she devotes her research to the relationship between music, sound and images in contemporary cinema. She is the editor of the collective work Ennio Morricone: Et pour quelques notes de plus... (Éditions Universitaires de Dijon, 2022). Screening organized in partnership with the Master in Performing Arts: cinema of the Université Libre de Bruxelles.
