Of Horses and Men

This film is about romance. The romance between humans and horses. A highly skilled horseman pays a visit to his neighbor, their charm does the rest… And his stallion also wants to find a mare! In this peculiar story, the fortune of the countrymen is perceived through the horses’ eyes, those adorable Icelandic horses, and love and death become intertwined with immense consequences. All the film’s storylines tell the struggles in the lives of men and horses in this fleeting world of ours. The theme is a classic story of the fight between man and nature, the efforts of humans to harness the animalistic powers of nature for their own gain…or loss. The film won six Eddas, the Finnish Oscars.
