Mozaikorea : Scattered Melodies

On the occasion of its first anniversary, the Korean Cultural Center presents the performance “Scattered Melodies” by Mosaikorea in Flagey. “Scattered Melodies” is a literal English translation of the Korean word “sanjo”, which refers to a musical style, characterized by the superposition of different Korean rythms. Sanjo is a very suitable style for solos and leaves a lot of freedom for experiments and improvisations. In this concert, the characteristics of sanjo will interact with Western music styles such as jazz, and traditional Korean instruments are combined with Western instruments. The program of the concert reflects the philosophy of eternal complementarity; better know as yin and yang, and the 5 elements of nature: metal, wood, water, fire and earth.
