Lakshminarayana Subramaniam, Kavita Krishnamoorthy

Although musician families are not rare, few are able to combine such a high level of training and different influences with such talent. Dr Lakshminarayana Subramaniam is a composer, conductor and accomplished violinist. Trained in Western and Carnatic classical music, he is known for his virtuoso jazz-fusion performances and compositions. His numerous collaborations have brought him into contact with some of the greatest names in music, including Yehudi Menuhin, Stéphane Grappelli and Herbie Hancock. His wife, Kavita Krishnamurthy, is a famous Bollywood playback singer. Most notably, she has performed compositions by R. D. Burman and A. R. Rahman, and won many awards. The meeting of these brilliant musicians promises to be a unique fusion of jazz, Eastern and Western classical music and Bollywood.
