With their intense playing and radiant interpretations, the Belcea Quartet has established itself as an absolute reference in the string quartet repertoire. In this program, they reunite with German violist Tabea Zimmermann, with whom they recorded Brahms’s string sextets in 2022 to critical acclaim.
Together, they perform two masterpieces of the string quintet : Mozart’s melancholically elegant KV 516 and Brahms’s First Quintet, Op. 88, rich with warm contrapuntal textures.
