Magic Wood takes us to the other side of the world, to Australia, the homeland of the Aboriginal people and of an ancestral culture, ‘long before the Dreamtime, even before time could be counted’… From this island-continent, our two ‘wizards of breath’ recount its rites and legends through song, dance and the didgeridoo.
This is the famous ‘magic wood’, an instrument with deep sounds and an unimaginable variety of timbres, crafted for over 20,000 years with the help of termites! And Magic Wood has not been practising it for millennia, but for long enough to have tamed this strange creature!
The performance will also explore the benefits of circular breathing for the body, the harmonising power of voices, and the various rhythms that flow through us, in harmony with Mother Nature… A unique experience halfway between an animist tale, a traditional music concert and physical exercise: magical, indeed.
