Recital by Laureates – Buchet International Cello Competition 2026

Who will be the next great voice of the cello? Be among the first to discover the three young musicians who emerge at the top of the 2026 Buchet International Cello Competition, selected from more than 100 applicants from around the world. Just days after the results are announced, the three laureates take the Flagey Studio 1 stage for a recital that offers something increasingly rare: the chance to hear exceptional young artists at the very beginning of what could become remarkable international careers.

Before reaching Flagey, sixteen candidates will compete on 26 and 27 October at the Royal Conservatory of Mons (ARTS²) before an international jury comprising Han Bin Yoon (Chairperson), Roel Dieltiens, Anne Gastinel, Marie Hallynck, Frans Helmerson and Victor Julien-Laferrière, joined for the Final Round by Judith Van Eeckhout (Brussels Philharmonic), Ulrich Hauschild (Flagey) and Veerle Simoens (Flemish Ministry of Culture).
