The Miracle of Tekir

Panorama Outsiders | Brussels Film Festival

The Miracle of Tekir is a tribute to a land in the heart of the Danube, which jealously guards its ancient secrets, mixtures between superstition and religion, dream and reality. Mara lives in these places full of mystery and believes she is pregnant from the waters of the marsh. Chased away from her village due to her beliefs, she finds a job at a thermal hotel that treats women against infertility. There, she builds up a strong relationship with a patient, Mrs. Lili. The film can be compared to a fable varying between tradition and modernity, rationality and mysticism and pushes us to free our imagination, too often constrained by our daily routine. Backed by a poetic approach and the exceptional photography of the scenery, the film captivates and becomes almost magical.
