“Ça part en fugue”, the podcast known for its provocative questions, leaves your headphones and takes the stage of Studio 1 at Flagey.

In the spotlight is one of the most celebrated composers in history: Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.

Was he a genius? A plagiarist? An alcoholic? Was he coarse and irreverent? Was he murdered?

Accompanied by the piano, Réal Siellez and Cécile Poss transport you to the heart of Enlightenment Vienna.

Through a selection of Mozart’s most iconic works, you will discover how he composed, explore the extraordinary — or perhaps not so extraordinary — qualities of his mind, and examine the music that inspired him, the works he quoted and even those he may have borrowed from. But can we really speak of plagiarism in the eighteenth century?

Guided by the customs, social conventions and cultural codes of the time, we trace Mozart’s short yet remarkably intense life.

And for the grand finale: why and how did death come to claim the soul of this illustrious composer?
