She crossed the Atlantic Ocean, heading for the Americas, where she discovered music very different from what she was used to in Europe, particularly that famous jazz that has the whole continent buzzing. From the genre’s roots in work songs and the blues to its fusions with samba, funk and French chanson, Lou recounts – alongside the musician friends she met along the way – her fabulous journey through the great epic of jazz!
Created by the Belgian-Chilean singer Marylène Corro (in collaboration with the musician Francesco Marco), Le Voyage de Lou invites young audiences to set off on a journey of discovery through this unique musical genre, at the crossroads of cultures and continents. Unifying, intense and vibrant – this is the spirit of jazz that Marylène wishes to share with her young audience, accompanied by pianist Margaux Vranken and saxophonist/clarinetist Antoine Lissoir, outstanding virtuosos on the Belgian music scene. Here, we sing, we dance, we clap our hands… In short, with Lou, it’s going to swing!
