With Parole in musica, the three guitarists of the Volterra Project Trio present a varied programme of music inspired by stories from literature, film, and theatre. In their hands, the guitars become a miniature orchestra, effortlessly shifting between refined lyricism and sharp rhythmic drive. From the very first notes of Enrique Granados’s Valses poéticos, the guitar reveals its ability to sing as much as to dance, with dance and lyricism inseparably intertwined. This exploration continues with iconic excerpts from Edvard Grieg’s incidental music for Peer Gynt, music by Oscar-winning film composer Manos Hadjidakis, and exuberant dances from Leonard Bernstein’s West Side Story. With this multifaceted programme, the Volterra Project Trio pays tribute to the guitar as a storyteller of wordless tales.
