The renowned British vocal ensemble VOCES8 opens the Arvo Pärt Festival with a contemplative programme of choral music from the Baltic region and the far North. At the heart of the concert is the spiritual, pared-down style of Arvo Pärt, deeply rooted in the musical traditions of his homeland. Composers like Ēriks Ešenvalds, Vytautas Miškinis, Jean Sibelius and Hugo Alfvén — whose works resonate with northern nature, silence, and spirituality — helped shape the unique voice of Pärt. VOCES8 is joined by the young Brussels singers of the Flagey Academy — a rare opportunity for them to perform with a world-class ensemble.
