Max Pinckers : The Fourth Wall

The photo series of the young Belgian Max Pinckers, The Fourth Wall, came into being following his fascination with the immense sway that Bollywood holds over everyday life in India. His larger-than-life snapshots subtly blur the contrast between the cinema set and the street, between real-life and newspaper articles, between professional actors and simple by-standers. He thus sheds light on the theatrical nature inherent to reality, and, with his scrupulous attention to lighting, he manages to encapsulate the spontaneous moments of the glitz of cinema.
