ganavya + Alabaster DePlume

List Festival | double bill: 1 ticket, 2 concerts

Discover at the Listen Festival the brand-new album Nilam by ganavya. The New York vocalist with South Indian roots combines spiritual influences with jazz into an intimate, powerful sound. Her voice is often compared to that of Arooj Aftab: ethereal, raw and full of emotion. Together with her band, she delivers a unique live experience, full of calmness and connection, in which her richly layered songs come to life. Nilam, produced by Nils Frahm, follows the acclaimed Daughter of a Temple. The New York Times describes her music as “feels like a prayer… with listeners hanging on her every word.”

"Don’t forget you’re precious" — with that gentle rallying cry, Alabaster DePlume returns to Flagey after his widely praised 2023 concert. The London-based saxophonist, poet, and anti-cynic presents A Blade Because a Blade is Whole, “a serene reminder of what really matters” (Pitchfork). His music — somewhere between spiritual jazz, folk, and performance poetry — breathes both tenderness and rage. Think Gil Scott-Heron, Arthur Russell, or Pharoah Sanders. On stage, he's “a heart-on-sleeve connector” (The Observer) who places improvisation, vulnerability, and community at the centre. NPR described him as “a fixture on the London avant-jazz scene whose greatest value is openness.” DePlume is back — and we’ll feel it.
