Her voice is often compared to that of Arooj Aftab: ethereal, raw and full of emotion. Together with her band, she delivers a unique live experience, full of calmness and connection, in which her richly layered songs come to life. The London-based saxophonist, poet, and anti-cynic presents A Blade Because a Blade is Whole, “a serene reminder of what really matters” (Pitchfork). His music — somewhere between spiritual jazz, folk, and performance poetry — breathes both tenderness and rage. Think Gil Scott-Heron, Arthur Russell, or Pharoah Sanders.
