One plus one makes three when it comes to Spanish cellist Jorge Giménez and Italian pianist Matteo Bevilacqua. Since meeting during their studies at the Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel, their collaboration on stage has always unfolded as something special. Their chemistry and joy in playing form the guiding thread through a rich and varied programme: the romantic fervour of Mendelssohn, Beethoven, and Schumann is complemented by southern warmth in Mompou’s Canción y Danza, Debussy’s Soirée dans Grenade, and the Spanish colours of Nin and de Falla.
