A tribute to Georges Delerue
This well-respected French orchestra, which has just celebrated its 35th birthday, will be at Flagey for a special programme devoted to film music by Georges Delerue. Born in Roubaix, northern France, Delerue started out as a factory worker, before picking up prizes at the Lille and Paris conservatories. Over a long career, he was to write for François Truffaut, Philippe de Broca, Jean-Luc Godard, Alain Resnais, Jean Becker, Gérard Oury, Alain Corneau, John Huston, Oliver Stone and Bernardo Bertolucci, among others, picking up three Césars and one Oscar along the way.
