Alexander Malofeev

Hailed by the international press as “the latest phenomenon of the Russian piano school” (Corriere della Sera), Alexander Malofeev captivates concert halls with his “crystal-clear sound and exceptional maturity” (Amadeus). At thirteen, he won the prestigious International Tchaikovsky Competition for Young Musicians. After his Flagey debut in March 2025, he now returns with a recital exploring a rich piano landscape: from the impressionistic nature scenes of Sibelius’ The Trees and Grieg’s elegant Holberg Suite, to the modernist colours of Stravinsky and Lourié. Malofeev concludes with Prokofiev’s virtuosic Second Sonata – a programme full of contrasts and imagination.
