Julien Libeer & Korneel Bernolet
Le Tombeau des Couperin
Two Belgian keyboard specialists, pianist Julien Libeer and harpsichordist Korneel Bernolet, present a colourful portrait of the legendary Couperin family. For generations, Louis, François and Armand-Louis Couperin shaped the French keyboard landscape, just as the Bachs did in Germany: innovators of the harpsichord suite, masters of dance forms, and favourites at the French royal court. Their influence reached far beyond their own time and resonated with Ravel, who paid modern homage in his iconic Le Tombeau de Couperin. Paired with a sparkling four-hand sonata by Mozart, the recital unfolds like a musical family album full of dialogue and refinement.
