Riahi, Blake, Jukič & Sumbry

As artist-in-residence at the Brussels Jazz Festival, Belgian-Tunisian pianist Wajdi Riahi presents the ensemble of his dreams. Joined by Seamus Blake (saxophone), Robert Jukič (double bass), and Kweku Sumbry (drums), he unveils a bold new sound in which contemporary American jazz fuses with the mesmerizing rhythms of the Stambeli tradition from his homeland. His singular musical voice emerges from a dual foundation in classical and Arab music, nourished by his passion for jazz and the vibrant Brussels scene. A prizewinner in Dinant and collaborator with Aka Moon and Stéphane Galland, Riahi delivers a compelling, spiritual, and strikingly universal voice.
