Rosa Brunello + Yazz Ahmed / Anoush Abrar / Alex Bex

Rosa Brunello + Yazz Ahmed Quartet

double bill: 2 concerts, 1 ticket

Rosa Brunello is a versatile bassist and composer who developed her distinctive style between jazz, experimental, and electronic music. In Senseless Acts Of Love, she celebrates connection and individuality, together with Tamar Osborn, Luca Tapino, Maurice Louca, and Marco Frattini. The album invites slow travel: conscious and sustainable journeys where the process is as important as the destination. Brunello says: “Maybe on a night train: you fall asleep in the evening, begin dreaming, and wake up in the morning at your destination.” Collective improvisations and spontaneous moments highlight empathy and the celebration of each person’s unique voice.

Yazz Ahmed, trumpeter and “High Priestess of Psychedelic Arabic Jazz,” brings with A Paradise in the Hold a stunning mix of jazz, electronic sounds, and traditional music from Bahrain. Her music explores the melancholy of pearl diver songs and the festivity of women’s drum groups, telling a story of identity and heritage. She creates a powerful, boundary-pushing sound that is deeply personal. As Ahmed herself says: “There is so much beauty in the music of Bahrain. This album is a celebration of my cultural identity.” Critics praise it as “a masterpiece full of creative insight and passion.”
