Farocki shows us locations in Africa, India, Europe, and Japan that each have their own methods, customs and capacities of building. The film takes us from the traditional methods of Africa, and the highly sophisticated methods of Europe, to the emerging industries of India. A variety of images of the construction of hospitals, schools and housing will provide comparisons between the cultures as a means to identify their differences, however, not through a lens of competition.
