Sirènes

A musical show for young and old alike

Sirènes is a creation of the Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel, in collaboration with the Compagnie Artichoke, under the artistic direction of Sophie van der Stegen and Sarah Laulan.

This poetic musical work, inspired by tales, myths, and human emotions, explores the four elements – Fire, Earth, Air, Water – and a voice that loses itself in order to be reborn.

The performance breaks the boundaries of lyrical theater, blending drama, song, humor, and movement in a symbolic world that travels between H.C. Andersen, the Odyssey, Rusalka, and the Lorelei. The mermaid becomes the thread running through a story of metamorphosis, quest, loss, and rebirth.

Sirènes is the result of a series of collective workshops offered to the singers of the Voice department at the Music Chapel, where the following questions are explored: How do you speak to young audiences? How do you convey something without explaining it…
