The young princess Patema lives in an underground world, and despite reservations from those around her, she often ventures beyond its limits trying to find a trace of her father, who has mysteriously disappeared. What kind of world lies beyond these abandoned tunnels, where frightening bat men roam? In trying to escape them, Patema falls into a vacuum and finds herself in an upside down world.
