Roman Borisov
The young pianist Roman Borisov is rapidly establishing himself on European stages with a dazzling virtuosity and profound musical intuition. For this opening concert of the Flagey Piano Days, he presents a programme highlighting some of his favourite composer, whose works he has previously performed with brilliance. In the short piano pieces by Prokofiev, Lyadov, and Mendelssohn, his playing reveals its full lyrical power. The piano sonatas by Beethoven and Rachmaninov provide the perfect canvas to showcase his virtuosity, without ever compromising the expressive depth of his interpretations. After his highly successful recital at last year’s Flagey Piano Days, Borisov is eager to leave his mark on this year’s edition.
