Josh (Jesse Eisenberg) works on an organic farm in Oregon. Through his contact with the activists he frequents, his ecological convictions become more radical. Determined to take action, he teams up with Dena (Dakota Fanning), a young activist, and Harmon (Peter Sarsgaard), a man with a troubled past. Together, they decide to carry out the most spectacular operation of their lives.
