Hoda Siahtiri + Shaahin Peymani
For Those Who Live At The Shoreline
For Those Who Live At The Shoreline is a ceremonial performance, an invitation to witness the duality of light and darkness. A place to listen to the depth of the seas, remember to breathe, and call together for the lightness of the blue skies.
The title come from the poem, A Litany For Survival by Audre Lord, and it explains the necessity of the time and space which formed the forces to create this performance in Tehran in January 2026. The poem “is for those of us who were imprinted with fear like a faint line in the centre”. And the performance is for those who find the liberation in freeing from the fears.
Hoda and Shaahin channel the ancestral vocal sounds of the mountain and lands together with the electronic sounds. The sounds structure around recursion and gradual transformation, evoking tidal motion through a circuitry of pulse and decay, patterns repeating and dissolving.
