Incendies

The twins Jeanne and Simon Marwan are stunned when they receive two letters from their late mother Nawal at the solicitor’s office. One letter is addressed to their father, whom they believed to be dead, and the other is for their brother, whose existence they were completely unaware of.

Denis Villeneuve’s second feature film is a poignant and multi-layered drama that foreshadows his later work with the same thematic intensity and visual precision that he further developed in Prisoners, Arrival and Blade Runner 2049.
