Lucien Hervé, photographe malgré lui
Unreleased doc / Film cycle: Views on architecture
The late Lucein Herve’s (1910-2007) photos combine a humanist outlook with an architectural eye. Gerrit Messiaen filmed Herve at the latter’s home, 50 years after his work with Le Corbusier. He talks about his life and his collaboration with the renowned architect, for whom he was official photographer. However, his views are not just simple recollections: cropped frames, the lines and lighting turn these still images of buildings into works of art of their own accord.
