Four young soloists, a triple concerto, the King Stephen overture – a vibrant homage to the founder of the Hungarian nation, a choral innovation which created a blueprint for the subsequent Ode to Joy: an ambitious and novel programme from the Liege Royal Philharmonic and the Octopus Chorus, one that reflects the diversity of the (enormous) body of Beethoven’s work.
