Music sails over national borders. An Armenian, a Russian, and a Finn will all be on stage together for a piece entitled the Three Spirits, a particularly suggestive title inspired by the three witches in Macbeth. In this case, the lineage runs back not to Shakespeare, but rather to Heinrich von Collin. Beethoven had commissioned him to write a new opera, which never happened as he passed away. However, this trio have seized upon the music.
