Time to discover Latvian jazz with the help of the Rigas Ritmi Allstars project. This project, and festival, aims to be an ambassador for Latvian jazz throughout the world. As part of the Latvian presidency of the EU, two of their standard bearers will be on at Flagey: the drummer Maris Briezkalns’ quintet, with its innovative jazz tinged with pop and latino influences, and the Laima Jansone Trio (a unique line-up which includes a kokle, the oldest Latvian instrument!), one of the highlights of the 2012 Rigas Ritmi festival.
