Spring Awakening by Frank Wedekind skillfully describes the problematic nature of a group of youngsters reaching adolescence: their budding sexuality, the resistance against parents and teachers, the endeavours for new ideals… This poignant story is translated into a modern context. Frederik Neyrinck adapted the opera of Benoît Mernier, created in 2007.
