“Perhaps the best comic book adaptation ever made” according to Leonard Matlin, and seemingly confirmed by the extensive commercial success and the Oscar for special effects. Sam Raimi shows himself to be one of the best with this film. Stan Lee, creator of the original comic book, also makes a couple of fleeting appearances.
