After transplanting the Princesse de Cleves into the Beautiful Person, Christopher Honore (Love Songs, Dans Paris) takes an even bolder step with this adaptation of Ovid. Ancient Gods and Demi-Gods evolve within a contemporary setting. The intense sensuality and poetry and the excellent young actors thrust into modern life drive the film. Métamorphoses shows us that some of the avenues open to cinematographic exploration still hold plenty of secrets.
