Twin siblings are sent by their parents to stay with their Grandmother in the countryside, in an attempt to save them from the horrors of war in the city. Sour and selfish, the Grandmother is far from the stuff of fairy tales ... A rugged film about the difficulties children face in times of armed conflict and about growing up the hard way, with all the associated cruelty and paranoia. This fifth feature film from a major figure in Hungarian cinema (director of The Witman Boys) won the Crystal Globe for Best Feature Film at the Karlovy Vary film festival.
