Stabat Mater & Krocus Trio
First part: Stabat Mater - G. B. Pergolesi
One of the most beautiful Stabat Mater... Composed by Pergolesi two months before he died, it is written in the form of a cantata: a succession of arias and duos based on a liturgical text of the XIIIth century, which meditates on the suffering of the Virgin Mary, Mother of Christ.
Second part: Krocus Trio
Krocus Trio: here is a name which crosses over linguistic barriers and cocks a humorous snoop at the grumpy. With a daring touch of springtime, it represents a certain Belgian approach to singing Bel Canto.
The programme is in the same vein: mediterranean sun, Russian snowfalls, English tea and landscapes rolling in mists where canals disappear into the distance.… punctuated by truly belgian guffaws.
Marie-Noëlle et Sophie have been friends and fellow performers since the time they met in Jules Bastin's class at the Royal Brussels Conservatory, while Anait has been adopted by Belgium years ago.
This evening is taking place thanks to the generous sponsership of the M de C Fondation. Thank you !
