T.C. Boyle
T.C. Boyle (1948) is considered one of the most important American writers of the last decades. Before gaining popularity among the general public with the film adaptation of his novel The Road to Wellville, he was already renowned among book lovers as a skilful stylist. He has written 24 novels and won at least as many awards, including the Prix Médicis étranger for The Tortilla Curtain and the PEN/Faulkner Award for World's End. The author will talk about his oeuvre and his new book The Harder They Come, a novel about the urge for complete independence and the thirst for violence and how both go hand in hand. Boyle once again delivers a razor-sharp analysis of American society, fraying at the edges.
