Friedemann Weigle, the violist with the Artemis Quartet and professor at the Musikhochschule Hanns Eisler in Berlin, died early this July. The Artemis Quartet is now faced with the difficult task of finding a new direction. This concert is dedicated to the memory of Friedemann Weigle. Together with the pianist Markus Groh, the members of the quartet – Vineta Sareika, Gregor Sigl and Eckart Runge – choose some of the music that Friedemann loved the most: the piano quartets of Brahms and Schumann.
