Gary Hoffman & Miguel da Silva

For this recital of chamber music works by Tchaikovsky and Prokofiev, cellist Gary Hoffman and violist Miguel da Silva surround themselves with soloists from the Chapel and with clarinetist Žilvinas Brazauskas. Although Tchaikovsky composed Souvenir de Florence during a stay in Italy, he could not resist implementing some Russian-influenced melodies in the last two movements. Prokofiev, on the other hand, drew inspiration from Hebrew melodies for his Overture, written in New York in 1919.
