Koza
Brussels Film Festival | Panorama Explorers
They call him “Koza“, the goat. His best days as an olympic boxer are behind him. He and his partner, Miša, live in a dilapidated housing estate, constantly struggling to make ends meet. Miša learns that she is expecting a child and decides to terminate her pregnancy. Koza, who has not trained in a while, steps back into the ring, hoping to earn some cash and possibly change Miša's mind. Koza’s body is barely up to the training and he loses most of his fights in the first round. He drives through wintry landscapes, days on which it never really gets light. Slovakian boxer Peter Baláž, who plays himself here, was a brilliant find for the film and easily stands comparison with other boxing film heroes.
