Music for the crossing / Stefan Hertmans, Oleg Lysenko & Koenraad Tinel
A performance with literature, music and visual | Commemoration 14-18
I stood at the edge of a precipice. I thanked the tree.
Stefan Hertmans
In Music for the crossing, three great artists combine their forces: Stefan hertmans reads from his book, Koenraad Tinel paints and draws live on stage, and Oleg Lysenko plays the bajan in his own, unique way. A captivating performance with excerpts from the great Flemish novel War and Turpentine (Oorlog en Terpentijn), but also the beautiful cycle about the dancer Nijinsky from the poetry collection Music for the crossing (Muziek voor de overtocht), and recent poems about today’s refugee crisis. A cross-disciplinary creation, which won’t let you unaffected.
This creation is bilingual. Texts will be presented in Dutch and in French.
