Concert introduction: Dekalog in music

Klarafestival and Cinematek present the ten parts of Krzysztof Kieślowski’s monumental film classic Dekalog from 1989.  Furthermore, this five-day film marathon ends in style with a prestigious concert comprising the most important musical themes of the film cycle. Orchestra and choir are conducted by Zbignieuw Preisner, the composer. He also wrote the music for Kieślowski’s La Double Vie de Véronique and for the Trois Couleurs trilogy.  During this lecture, you will learn everything there is to know about the role of Zbignieuw Preisner's music in Kieślowski's films and about the relationship between religion and 20th century Polish music.
