Neruda (Pablo Larraín)
1948, the Cold War is tangible even in Chile. In Congress, Senator Pablo Neruda openly criticises the Government which prompts President Videla to accuse him of treason. He asks the feared inspector Óscar Peluchonneau, played by actor Gael García Bernal, to take care of the arrest of the poet. During an ensuing cat-and-mouse game, Neruda emerges as the winner, burgeoning into a symbol of freedom. That’s how this literary legend was born.
