A recital of Quintets
Music Chapel Festival: Vienna Classics | Piknik
Mozart seems to have appreciated the sound of the clarinet: his Quintet KV 581 inaugurates the repertoire for clarinet and string quartet, thus paving the way for composers such as von Weber and Brahms. The six string quintets of Mozart are typical for the use of two violas. In all of these master pieces, we can feel Mozart’s passion for the viola, giving special care to the profound, rich and warm sound of this instrument.
